Those of you following me on twitter may be aware of the
release of a very funky mix featuring:
Wes Montgomery vs. James Brown

Fela Kuti vs. James Brown....and many more showdowns
YES PEOPLE this is serious.
Various others will be making appearances on this jawn, so you'll have to wait
and see what I've cooked up for you in the kitchen..
It's going to be a real treat for the earholes.
Also the some new portfolio works have been added with more on the way, so stay tuned for fresh visuals and fresh sounds.

2009 is coming to an end.
So you should probably go here: http://www.zazzle.com/theefunklord
theefunklord style....
and upgrade your gear for the new year...I'm a poet and I knows it.
I'm bringing in the New Jawn with a ton of new visual work for my portfolio as well as some new T designs for the store. I've done a bit of re-branding as well because studies have shown that the round logo has a higher jiggy quotient than the hexagonal logo...
The site's back with the original content- I'll be adding new stuff soon.
Thanks for stopping by.

Can't Stop Tha Funkee...
Our first and only album was recorded in 2001-02 with little more than our instruments and amps, duct tape (if you only knew), a borrowed PA system and the urge to become the best funk band in Berwyn (and surrounding Main Line towns..and the less urban parts of Philly too, probably).
Talk of an end to the hiatus has risen, but Smith is off in New England dominating the music scene and recording hella albums....Matt won't set up his damn drum set (I know you can see this. DO IT), and Gerald is busy somewhere trying to be awesome... I have recorded a few tracks with Alex a couple of years ago, and his insane bass samples have been used in a few of my tunes. He is the 2nd coming of Vic Wooten. Enjoy....

Typos will be fixed and visuals will be added.
I have found various typos and will be fixing them...
Also, I'll be adding some visuals and updating the folio section...you may have inferred all of this from the blue text above, but I wanted to explain all of it to you because that's what this part of the page is for. Now that we've had that discussion, go enjoy your weekend.

Work is fun.
Greetings all, it's been a bit since I've updated stuff here on the site, but in that time I finally backed up ALL of my information on my studio computers, and did some harddrive maintenance, so I'm truly back in business and ready to roll. I've been working on the mixdowns for some music and creating some pretty interesting T-shirt designs for myself and some friends in the local Drum and Bass scene. I'll post the visuals today or tomorrow, and some audio clips after that. Stay tuned....

NEW MUSIC ON THE WAY!
So it's nearly midnight, and my insomnia is out of control...but when you're creative, it's not always a bad thing :)
I'm resting my ears now after a loooooong session, but ever since Dillinja rocked Fluid last weekend, and I got to chill with some of the PhillyDnB.com family at Butterfly Effect (hosted by Liquid Charm)- I've been on top of things in the studio. Some of the (many) unfinished projects on my harddrive are finally beginning to shape up into some quality tunes.
Speech of Arrested Development said it took about 3 Years, 5 Months, and 2 days for his music to get noticed, and it's a little scary that things are falling into place for theefunklord in a similar timespan (Yes, I'm a nerd, and I did the math)...It's about time....
I'll be sending some of my tunes to the local DJs and producers for approval and such, so sit tight, and Funkcast IV will be mixed before you know it!
...You may even hear one of them drop on bassdrive or dnbtv.. we shall see

fotos | new music soon | the twitterverse
I went back through some old files to get pictures from my travels....a few from London (N1), The Hague + Netherlands, and the Illadelph + surrounding areas.
I've been spending a lot of time getting my graphic and web design game strong (as the youth would say), so my recording and production time has dropped off a little bit...but FEAR NOT!
My fourth Funkcast will finally be finished soon. The first three included some older stuff, so it was easier to mix them, but the new one will be super sexy for your earholes- lots of fresh tunes.
Finally, if you partake in a bit of daily twitterficationizing, and you don't mind a litte bit of humor and random banter, then you should follow theefunklord. See the links page.

Welcome to theefunklord.com version 4.1!
As you may have noticed, I've changed the design, yet again- because it's fun trying out new things on this ridiculous site. What you'll probably find is that theefunklord.com Version 4.1 can be viewed properly in all browsers now (those of you using Internet Explorer are still in the 20th Century, by the way), but you may need to refresh (hit the F5 key).
Also... THE FOTO SECTION HAS FINALLY BEEN UPLOADED...seriously4Realz.
I'll be adding tons more fotos in the coming hours, so please be patient if that page (or the javascript) seems buggy..it'll be fixed shortly, or by the time you refresh your browser...because I got it like that...
Thanks for stopping by.
